PayPal Mobile(Mobile Payment System)

May 16, 2008

Cell phones have changed from being simple voice transmitters to productivity tools and entertainment. Now, as several new services illustrate, they are poised to replace international wire transfers and banks cards as well.

PayPal has launched its mobile payment platform, called PayPal Mobile. Oliver Starr at MobileCrunch had the scoop and was also slashdotted at March 22, 2006. PayPal’s solution is easy to use, and has some great features that take this beyond a way to text your friends money. To use the service, you need to register a phone and create a PIN. PayPal uses an automated system to call you on the phone and verify the PIN, and the phone is then usable.

To send a person to person payment, you either text the payment amount and recipient’s phone number to PayPal, or call a toll free number and follow the directions. PayPal Mobile can also be used to pay for stuff as well. It’s called Text to Buy:

Anytime you see Text to Buy next to something you want to buy—on a poster, in a magazine, at an event—you can securely order the item by text message.
Use your phone to buy items like CDs, DVDs, books, electronics, accessories and much more.

To use it, you text PayPal the item number, and they call you back to confirm the purchase. Done.

Most mobile carriers charge for text messages but there are no additional charges for using PayPal Mobile.

Stumble Or Digg?

May 15, 2008

What Diggers Like?

  • Videos - short clips which are funny, mind-boggling, bizarre or have a high impact (such as a mine going off etc). More and more, we see little collections of videos (i.e. a “Top Ten <INSERT GENRE(ish)> Videos”) doing extremely well on Digg.
  • Pictures - again, collections of pictures do well on Digg. Usually, as with videos, pictures which are ‘wacky’ or out of the ordinary in some way do best. They do not necessarily have to be great photographs - it is the subject matter that counts. Collections, such as top tens do extremely well, and, it matters little whether the author of the Dugg page actually took the pictures him or herself.
  • Articles - it is more difficult to get an article to the top of Digg. Generally, those that do best concern funny or bizarre stories, or an extremely well-written piece. Top Ten, or Top 20, lists which are snappy, well written and funny do well too. The bigger sites with prominent Digg buttons also do very well here (e.g. bbc.co.uk etc), as their exposure is much higher: they get more Diggers to read the article who don’t just come in through Digg.com.

What Do Stumblers Like?

Stumblers will like a well taken picture, where Diggers will like a picture of something ‘freaky’ or ‘ hilarious’ even if it is a very blurry photo of someone that might be George Bush falling off a unicycle onto a thousand upturned thumb-tacks.

Stumblers also like a top ten, or similar, list of cool pictures or videos, though they may (due to the nature of Stumbleupon allowing one to select from more interests) like an article which is more poetic, or just a good piece of literature, rather than a piece about a really cool gadget.

Diggers and Stumblers do have a huge impact for one reason: each Digg or Stumble effectively adds a new link in to your page (and not just your homepage - a true deep link) - a huge number of Diggs or Stumblers therefore adds a huge number of links. Whether these be “no-follow” or not.

Tips For Buying Of Desktop PC Online

May 11, 2008

Consider the warranty and tech support: Because most PC problems Happen in the first year, a one-year warranty should be fine. Check PC World’s Reliability & Service survey, where readers collectively determine which PC makers provide the best and worst technical support and warranty service. Offers of multiple tiers of service are given by most PC makers, so you can get–and pay for–the level of service you want.

Don’t buy additional software unless you really need it: Purchase an operating system, an office suite, and an antivirus package. But if you need more, look for vendors’ software bundles to upgrade your software. For as little as $100, you can often upgrade from Microsoft Works Suite or a similar package to a full office suite like Microsoft Office XP Small Business Edition.

Look for connectivity up front: Many PCs now offer a pair of USB ports on the front of the case, so you can connect multiple peripherals without having to fumble around in back. If this is important to you, look for PCs with up-front FireWire (IEEE 1394) ports, audio and video connectors, and USB 2.0 ports.

Check an LCD monitor: If you’re buying a nonbundled display, make sure it will work with the system you want–or that you at least have a money-back guarantee.

Avoid fancy keyboards to save money: Many vendors tell about fancy keyboards with extra buttons for launching apps. Save some money by choosing the cheapest option unless you have a specific need of that Keyboard.

And Only Buy the PC online from any computer selling website that could give you the PC at low price. Like eBay.

Tips For Good Adsensing

May 10, 2008

Making money online is the hot trend nowadays. In coming days I am sure you will see many working professional quit their day job and seat at home in their pajamas writing some blog posts to make their living.

Currently Google Adsense is the best option for most of the publishers. Some basic optimization tips can double your Adsense revenue. Two sites having same traffic can have huge adsense revenue difference depending on the ad optimization. Blog readers who’re passionate about your writing give you something incredibly valuable: attention. They take an interest in where you go and what you do. When you’re starting a new project that depends on attention to succeed. If you’re a web freelancer, a prominent hire-me page on your blog can send you a steady trickle of job offers with no effort required on your part (other than writing the ‘hire me’ page).

If you want paid blogging gigs, write the kind of articles you’d like to write elsewhere — on your own blog. Potential clients will know exactly what you’re capable of bringing them. If your posts tend to be popular, it’s a fantastic advertisement for your work. If you’re trying to earn an income through blog advertising, having two blogs can effectively double your income. If you can leverage your first blog, you’ll save months of work you would have spent establishing blog #2.

The SAUM rifle wears a twenty inch stainless fluted barrel with a one-in-ten inch twist, and is especially useful for firing long, heavy thirty caliber bullets at long range. The Remington Match ammo tested fired a 190 grain bullet at 2741 feet-per-second (fps) from the twenty inch barrel, measured at ten feet from the muzzle. This is a significant advantage over the .308 Winchester (7.62 NATO) cartridge fired from the AP-4, which launched a 168 grain bullet at 2475 fps from its shorter tube. The disadvantage is that the .300 SAUM carbine weighs almost two pounds more, and its magazine holds only four cartridges instead of twenty. However, it does pack a heavier punch, and has a flatter long-range trajectory. The upper receiver of the SAUM is of the “slick side” type, with no case deflector or forward assist.

Facebook VS Orkut VS The Google

May 2, 2008

Social project spearheaded by Google comes to fruition in a few months, this project by google has alot more applications than face book and orkut but it is not yet told to anyone about the Social project.

An interest in social networking will continue to grow and be more accepted by companies and organizations like NASA, Egglepple, IBM, Diz, and others which will make orkut way more relevant than the rest. Face book is limited, and Microsoft would do something so dumb as spend all that $$ investing in them. Combine the OpenSocial idea with something like Sony’s ‘Home’ for the PS, and you start to see the potential of orkut.

facebook is cool & well designed. Presently it would beat orkut anytime due to its clean design layout, privacy features & applications. Even if googles open social project succeeds I would still prefer facebook due to its clean interface.

Also another important point. On Facebook, you’ll find more people from smaller towns like Shimla, Chandigarh, Agra… even Pune. While Facebook caters to a more ‘global audience’.
