Is Social Media The Right Place For Technology Marketing?

November 15, 2007

Definition of Social Media is still in transition, and the reasons for this transition are diverse. Differences in opinion stand first, variations in cultures, geography, values and demands after that. blog-power2.jpgAccording to one school of thought, when we talk about Social Media Marketing, that doesn’t specify any particular entity, instead represents the global village and while being in global village there’s no chance of variations in demands.

May be it’s right to some extent, but the global village when segmented according to another school of thought does bring variations. Individuality of a single person or a specific society hence becomes a point that cannot be generalized.

Well, the debate of generalizing and specifying the Social Media Marketing is probably a never ending concern, but what the purpose of this article is to identify if SMM works better for technology, dos it fulfill demand, create it or what else!

In my opinion, technology has a better scope via SMM, and that’s what based on the needs of society. Let’s just don’t go in mega technology concerns, but just mobile applications and softwares, marketing these through social media works at its best because it creates a win-win situation. On one hand the end user gets the latest technology at doorstep, even virtually, saving time and transaction cost, while the other end benefits the manufacturer letting him explore more markets, and direct contact with end user.

Well, that’s just my opinion, probably not that deep but that’s what sought after in contemporary situation is.
