Luxury Plane, The Singapore Airlines Airbus A380

May 29, 2008

The family of A380 aircraft, each with twin aisles and 2 levels, provides more room than any previous aircraft. Passenger ship-style stairs lead between the levels. The cargo compartments can be used for shops, exercise areas and sleeping rooms.

The baseline A380-100, with a capacity of 555 passengers in three classes, boasts a range of up to 14,200km (7,650nm). The stretched A380-200 is capable of transporting 656 passengers, also up to 14,200km (7,650nm). The A380-100R variant retains the 555 seat capacity, but with a range of 16,200km (8,750nm). Also under consideration is a smaller version, the A380-50R, to carry 481 passengers up to the same 16,200km (8,750nm) range as the 100R.

At the request of airlines and airport authorities, the A380 fits within an 80 x 80m (262 x 262 ft) horizontal box, to make best use of current runways, taxiways and gates. The A380 will use the same runway length as the Boeing 747, even though its fuselage is 25cm (10 in) wider. Airbus also developed a new light material called Glare, made of fiberglass and aluminium alloy, which would shave several tonnes off the weight.

Airbus aims to make the A380 the most pleasurable flying experience possible, regardless of a traveller’s size or class of ticket. A show flight took place in 2006 with service flights scheduled for 2008.

Our Universe(The Formation)

May 23, 2008

Scientists have made a very important discovery in recent years. This important discovery was that before the universe was formed, there was nothing else. There was no land, no air, no water, and there were no stars; there was even no space. Inside this nothingness, there was this tiny spot. This spot was so tiny that it was difficult even for an eye to see. A lot of matter had been squeezed together inside this spot. Then, in an instant this spot exploded. When it exploded, all the matter that was squeezed inside it flew about. After that, the pieces of matter joined together to first form atoms, then from those atoms, stars, our sun, earth and the other planets. The scientists named this explosion the “Big Bang”. Everything in the universe was formed as a result of this Big Bang.

Allah is the Maker of the “Big Bang”, the Organizer of the matter that scattered in space after the “Big Bang”. By bringing together all this matter, He is also the Creator of the sun, earth, planets and stars. When Allah wishes something to be, He gives the order “Be” and it comes into being. Allah is Superior and He is the Strongest. His strength is enough for everything. When He wants something, He can create it immediately.

Allah has sent us His book “The Qur’an” through which He introduces Himself and His creation to us. We can find all the right answers to every question from the Qur’an and the Sunnah (The Prophet Muhammad’s way of life).

Allah Created The Earth So that Living Things Could Survive.

1. Think about… how orderly everything in the universe is. The sun has been put in the exact position from which it could warm us and give us light at the same time. If there were no sun, there would not have been one living thing on earth. Neither us, nor the animals nor any other creatures would have been able to live.

2. Allah has also distanced the sun from earth to just the right extent. If earth was a little bit closer to the sun, the heat would have melted it and we would not have been able to live. If earth was a little more distant from the sun, then glaciers were creating the weather too cold, few living things would have been able to survive. This is one of the reasons why there is no life on other planets, because they are either too close to the sun or too distant from it.

3. As you know, We need oxygen in the air so that we can breathe. Exactly the right amount of oxygen exists in the air so that human beings can breathe. If there were a little bit more or a little bit less, neither we, nor the animals, nor the plants would have survived.

4. One of the most important things that make it possible for us to survive is water. No organism can live without water. For this reason, Allah has created some parts of earth as water. Three quarters of earth’s surface is covered with water. However, there is no water on any of the other planets nor is there any water on the moon that you see at night. The essentials for living things are only available on earth.

Many events on earth make it possible for us to live. If even only one of these events doesn’t take place, no living thing would be left on earth. So, is it possible that these thousands of events have come together and formed such a place as earth? Of course not. Not even one of these events could happen by chance. Allah has created earth for human beings. And, because of this, earth is the most suitable place for us.

YAHOO’s History

May 19, 2008

David Filo and Jerry Yang, Ph.D. candidates in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, started their guide in a campus trailer in February 1994 as a way to keep track of their personal interests on the Internet. Before long they were spending more time on their home-brewed lists of favorite links than on their doctoral dissertations. Eventually, Jerry and David’s lists became too long and unwieldy, and they broke them out into categories. When the categories became too full, they developed subcategories … and the core concept behind Yahoo! was born.

Today, Yahoo! Inc. is a leading global Internet communications, commerce and media company that offers a comprehensive branded network of services to more than 345 million individuals each month worldwide. As the first online navigational guide to the Web, www.yahoo.com is the leading guide in terms of traffic, advertising, household and business user reach. Yahoo! is the No. 1 Internet brand globally and reaches the largest audience worldwide. The company also provides online business and enterprise services designed to enhance the productivity and Web presence of Yahoo!’s clients. These services include Corporate Yahoo!, a popular customized enterprise portal solution; audio and video streaming; store hosting and management; and Web site tools and services. The company’s global Web network includes 25 World properties. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif., Yahoo! has offices in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, Canada and the United States.

PayPal Mobile(Mobile Payment System)

May 16, 2008

Cell phones have changed from being simple voice transmitters to productivity tools and entertainment. Now, as several new services illustrate, they are poised to replace international wire transfers and banks cards as well.

PayPal has launched its mobile payment platform, called PayPal Mobile. Oliver Starr at MobileCrunch had the scoop and was also slashdotted at March 22, 2006. PayPal’s solution is easy to use, and has some great features that take this beyond a way to text your friends money. To use the service, you need to register a phone and create a PIN. PayPal uses an automated system to call you on the phone and verify the PIN, and the phone is then usable.

To send a person to person payment, you either text the payment amount and recipient’s phone number to PayPal, or call a toll free number and follow the directions. PayPal Mobile can also be used to pay for stuff as well. It’s called Text to Buy:

Anytime you see Text to Buy next to something you want to buy—on a poster, in a magazine, at an event—you can securely order the item by text message.
Use your phone to buy items like CDs, DVDs, books, electronics, accessories and much more.

To use it, you text PayPal the item number, and they call you back to confirm the purchase. Done.

Most mobile carriers charge for text messages but there are no additional charges for using PayPal Mobile.

Stumble Or Digg?

May 15, 2008

What Diggers Like?

  • Videos – short clips which are funny, mind-boggling, bizarre or have a high impact (such as a mine going off etc). More and more, we see little collections of videos (i.e. a “Top Ten <INSERT GENRE(ish)> Videos”) doing extremely well on Digg.
  • Pictures – again, collections of pictures do well on Digg. Usually, as with videos, pictures which are ‘wacky’ or out of the ordinary in some way do best. They do not necessarily have to be great photographs – it is the subject matter that counts. Collections, such as top tens do extremely well, and, it matters little whether the author of the Dugg page actually took the pictures him or herself.
  • Articles – it is more difficult to get an article to the top of Digg. Generally, those that do best concern funny or bizarre stories, or an extremely well-written piece. Top Ten, or Top 20, lists which are snappy, well written and funny do well too. The bigger sites with prominent Digg buttons also do very well here (e.g. bbc.co.uk etc), as their exposure is much higher: they get more Diggers to read the article who don’t just come in through Digg.com.

What Do Stumblers Like?

Stumblers will like a well taken picture, where Diggers will like a picture of something ‘freaky’ or ‘ hilarious’ even if it is a very blurry photo of someone that might be George Bush falling off a unicycle onto a thousand upturned thumb-tacks.

Stumblers also like a top ten, or similar, list of cool pictures or videos, though they may (due to the nature of Stumbleupon allowing one to select from more interests) like an article which is more poetic, or just a good piece of literature, rather than a piece about a really cool gadget.

Diggers and Stumblers do have a huge impact for one reason: each Digg or Stumble effectively adds a new link in to your page (and not just your homepage – a true deep link) – a huge number of Diggs or Stumblers therefore adds a huge number of links. Whether these be “no-follow” or not.
