Bus networks actually use a common backbone to connect all devices, i.e. a single cable, connects all the devices. Ethernet bus topologies are relatively easy to install and don’t require much cabling compared to the alternatives, i.e. 10Base-2 (“ThinNet”) and 10Base-5 (“ThickNet”). Bus network is best for a small network, but the main issue with it is that if the backbone cable fails, the entire network will stop working.
