The Norton Antivirus dual protection is launched by the Security, storage and systems management applications company Symantec Corporation for Mac, featuring vulnerability protection and antivirus technology. The new software package combines Norton AntiVirus 2008 for Windows with Norton AntiVirus 11 for Mac. The software is targeted at users of Macs who have both Mac OS X and Windows running on their computers.As Apple’s share of the PC market has grown, security analysts as well as vendors have predicted a need for stronger protection software. It is claimed by the company that Norton AntiVirus Dual Protection for Mac offers an extra layer of protection against attacks that target software vulnerabilities on Leopard and Windows operating systems. The product includes both vulnerability and intrusion protection, to block malware and viruses from installing while downloading pictures, music and software.
